In 'Het Wijkpaleis' it is about making. Making in the sense of 'manufacturing, creating, fabricating' and about 'making in life'. It is a place to learn from each other by making and undertaking together. Due to the very different users, there is plenty of room for special encounters and cross-pollination.

Het Wijkpaleis asked me to develop a website that could convey the feeling of Het Wijkpaleis. I solved this by different design choices in the website. For example, the use of color is a reference to the different colors in the building itself and I have developed a typeface based on the homemade typography that occurs in Het Wijkpaleis.

The navigation structure and user-friendliness of the website played an important role during the creation process. The challenge was mainly in keeping an overview despite the large amount of information. I solved this in terms of design by clearly distinguishing information from each other by means of color and typography. By using different colors and typography for each type of information, the user learns the underlying information system in a natural way. This makes navigating and searching for a specific piece of information easier and clearer and therefore more user-friendly.
